Aliaksandr Pahanshau spent a little over a week at the hospital.

Administrative Advisor to the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey, Aliaksandr Pahanshau, shot by a former soldier, was discharged from the hospital. This was stated by Deputy Head of Information and Digital Diplomacy of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Shupliak.

The diplomat spent a little more than a week in the hospital.

- Our colleague is doing well. Today he has been discharged from the hospital. He will undergo further rehabilitation at home, - Shupliak said.

We remind that on Wednesday, July 24, in Ankara, a retired colonel fired several shots at the advisor to the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey, Aliaksandr Pahanshau, when he was returning home with a child. At night, the diplomat underwent an emergency operation, which was successful. The attacker committed suicide. According to the available information, he was registered in a psychoneurological medical institution, was mentally unstable.

Foreign Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Makei said that "there's no political background to the incident". He also mentioned the alleged reason for the attack: it may be related to the dissatisfaction of the attacker with the behavior of children who played in the yard.

- Perhaps it's because of this that the attacker has had such a psychological surge, which led to such a result, - Makei said.

Ambassador of Belarus to Turkey Andrei Savinykh says that the embassy employee and the attacker live in the same house, but they can't be called neighbors.

- There's one entrance, but the house is multi-apartment, they lived on different floors. We can't call the attacker a neighbor," the ambassador said.
