Leanid Zaika: Belarusians Leave For Poland With Their Families
Leanid Zaika

Life in the neighboring country looks tempting to many our compatriots.

Economist Leanid Zaika shared his impressions of visiting the western regions of Belarus with Primus, Salidarnasts writes.

- I talked a lot with the residents of this region: Brest, small towns and other settlements. About 70% of them would like to live in Poland, - he says.

According to the expert, life in the neighboring country looks tempting for a large number of Belarusians, who go there not only alone, but with their families, including large ones:

- I know one family that left - five children. For the sake of the children they went to Poland to study and live. The second family: the girl is the winner of art contests, she draws well. They also went to Poland. And when you talk to these men and women who live there, you can see that many people are inclined to leave.

The economist reminds that for a long time this region "has been negatively treating the existing domestic and foreign policy of Belarus."

- This can be admitted. They know life in Poland well, they earn money... Somewhere the coefficient of income increase is one to two, when they can buy goods that worth two dollars in Poland for every dollar they receive here. And then successfully sell them. And all their families do this, - Leanid Zaika says.
