Aksana Yushkevich: Many People, Having Read My Biography, Ask For Advice

The activist of European Belarus compared the pickets on collecting signatures with the trial by fire.

Aksana Yushkevich takes part in the parliamentary campaign for the first time. The young woman nominated herself for Chkalau electoral district #96 in Minsk. Her pickets to collect signatures have been held near the Institut Kultury metro station for several days now. Aksana herself takes part in the collection of signatures and communicates with residents of the district, the press service of European Belarus reports.

- Many people come up and ask about my ideas, about what we're going to do, about how we're going to achieve a change of power and other goals we have set. Our flags attract attention, while some are interested in the history of Pahonia.

The first woman who signed for me asked if I was Capricorn by the Zodiac sign. After making sure I was, she signed for me. Students even from the Academy of Management, which is nearby, sign and support me. Some of them say that they were given blank forms for collecting signatures and were demanded to enter their personal data there. I explain that it was illegal to do so.

Many people, having read my biography, ask for advice, for example, for legal advice. People talked about their problems, that they were tired of everything, that they were bought and sold here, that they needed change. There is no trust in the authorities at all, absolutely.

Most of the people who sign up for me are young people under 35. There were people who were not from my electoral district, but who would be happy to sign for any of our candidates. Our pickets are held all over Minsk, so I just give them information where they can do it.

I have great impressions. I would say it's like a trial by fire.
