How the Dream of Lukashenka's Favorite Turned Into a Failure

The new appointment too much for hockey coach Mikhail Zakharau.

Mikhail Zakharau has long dreamed of heading the national team of Belarus. It has already happened twice and ended up a scandalous his dismissal. But it did not prevent him from accepting the offer for the third time, Salidarnasts informs.

At that, Zakharau has had a comfort zone - Yunost Minsk hockey club. The coach was there as irreplaceable as Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

There is a reason to remember the dictator here. Zakharau once presented Lukashenka with skates and then became his favorite. The coach often accompanies the dictator during his trips to Sochi, harvesting in Drazdy and other important events.

This circumstance, of course, made Zakharav's dream come true. The third coming happened in August 2019.

After the appointment, happy Mikhal Mikhalych announced that he would combine his coaching in the national team and Yunost:

- I believe that it is wrong for a coach to work only with the national team. Your efficiency declines and you feel relaxed. This is wrong.

No one disagreed then. But three weeks later it was announced that Zakharau left Yunost.

Officially, this step was explained by the desire of the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus for the specialist to focus on the work with the national team. However, the fact that Zakharau consent to leave Younost was stipulated by the very top.

According to Salidarnasts, Lukashenka ordered Zakharau to part with Yunost. One can only guess about his motives, but we will not do this. In general, having made a gift to a companion, the "hockey player №1" deprived the coach of his comfort zone.

Zakharau's tragedy is that the Minsk club was his main source of income. The salary in the national team can hardly be enough to maintain a luxurious mansion, not to mention the purchase of a new Bentley and trips to Seychelles.

However, do not feel sorry for the coach, who suddenly lost his "cherry on a pie". There is information that Zakharau will not suffer from poverty anyway. One never knows, but his dearest dream - to run the Continental Hockey League Club - may come true.

However, there is a threat of future problems. In less than a year, the Belarusian national team will have to qualify for the Olympic Games. Another failure may drive him into troubles. So far, his the dream of the national team has turned into serious financial losses for Zakharau, and it may cause even greater problems later.
