One of the BNK leaders used a picket to collect signatures to address the Belarusians.

A meeting with the presidential candidate of the Belarusian National Congress, Mikalai Statkevich, was held in Homel, Radio Racyja reports.

As part of the picket to collect signatures of Homel citizen Andrei Pukanau, who put forward his candidacy at the parliamentary "elections," Statkevich had the opportunity to appeal to the Homel residents once again.

- It is now a month of relative freedom in Belarus, when one can picket anywhere in the city without asking for permission of the authorities, except for a few prohibited places. And we will take full advantage of it. We know that there are no elections. We will decide on our further participation after the formation of precinct commissions.

Independent candidate Andrei Pukanau says he joined these "elections" to support Statkevich.

- I was prompted by the opportunity to express my position legally and to give an opportunity to speak out to the person I consider the most worthy of political leaders. And Mikalai Statkevich amazes me by the fact that despite the fact that he has served a lot of time in prison, he has no anger about it, - the activist said.

The meeting with Statkevich, held at the site near the Homel department store, was attended by several dozen people. In parallel with the campaigning, supporters of the politician enroll citizens in the initiative group for the nomination of Statkevich in the 2020 elections.
