The head of the Catholic Church drew attention to spiritual education.
Nasha Niva asked Catholic Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz for comments on the incident at the Homel school.
"The situation reminds us that something should be done about the education of the young man. The teacher should also feel the problems of a schoolchild, as well as a schoolchild should treat an adult like a teacher. There are a lot of problems! We see Staubtsy: the young man has ruined lives! The life of the teacher and his friend. It's hard for me to assess who is to blame in Homel.
This is a problem of the spiritual nature of our society, such things should not happen. It signals that spiritual upbringing is poor. Something should be done. There are recipes.
The spiritual element should be present in the upbringing of the young! Does school teach them well, doesn't it? But a person is not only a body but also a soul. One can make a super-specialist, but one also needs to teach how to be a human. One ought to do it. Why are there no chaplains in school, universities or army? To discuss the spiritual, not the pastoral.
