European Belarus Holds New Pickets To Collect Signatures In Minsk

The change of power at all levels, Lukashenka's resignation, the closure of the BelNPP, and decent work for the Belarusians are the key objectives of the campaign.

On September 8th, the nomination of "candidates" for "deputies" started in Belarus. The activists of the European Belarus civil campaign collected signatures the Kamarouski market, the Ushod, Uruchcha and Victory Square metro stations. The candidates say that the Central Election Commission will not count the votes of voters, but the campaign time can be used to voice their demands, the Belsat TV channel reports.

- Our mission is to change the power at all levels, to dismiss Lukashenka and his officials, to shut down the Astravets nuclear power plant, to provide decent work for a decent income for our compatriots in the country. And, after all, to hold fair and free elections, - Yauhen Afnahel, coordinator of European Belarus, states.

- A certain FSB colonel from the East is attacking us and has almost destroyed our country. And in this situation, I think, we just need to act, - journalist Iryna Khalip, who has put forward her candidacy in the 110th electoral district of Minsk, said.

Today, the European Belarus civil campaign will continue to hold pickets to collect signatures in Minsk. The activists will collect signatures in the following places, the BNC press service reports:

near the Mikhalova metro station from 16:00 to 19:00,
