Lukashenka: How Could These People Get Rich So Fast?

The dictator got interested in the income of businessmen from the construction industry.

For the third time in a row, Lukashenka raises the issue of how to limit developers with 5% profitability. The dictator has told this at today's meeting with the top government officials. He also mentioned "moneybags" in the construction industry.

The press service of the ruler reports that Lukashenka remembered the state plant of industrial structures, headed by the brother of the legendary Belarusian ice hockey player, Vadzim Salei.

- Prices are normal, the company has not collapsed, it's profitable. I am told that if we follow this way, some financial resources will be lost and the enterprises will collapse as a result," said Lukashenka.

He wondered why other enterprises couldn't operate at 5% profitability.

- If they can't, let them queue up: we'll share with them if anything is left. Those who want to build housing with five per cent profitability, lower costs and lower prices will have a green light to construction. We won't decide whether it's private or public. This is the price and we can invest it," added the dictator.

Lukashenka focused on the "moneybags" issue.

- There are entrepreneurs, private individuals, businessmen, involved in the construction, especially in the construction of housing (they are crazy about this area). All of them have become at least a dollar millionaires. Quickly, they are 25-40 years old. Everyone who was seriously engaged in this. The question is, how did they manage? Even America fell behind it. I mean, how could these people get rich so fast? It's great that they are rich. But it's good to get rich at one's own expense. One has to to get rich due to one's own work. Not to refer to some market economy, at the expense of those who buy housing. This is not normal," explained the dictator.

He also mentioned that not all businesses should be engaged in housing construction.

- It is not normal when a person who has neither money nor knowledge starts building a house. Does he have people for that? There's nobody. There's a table, a chair. He addressed the same construction trust, they built it for him. He raised good money doing nothing. Therefore, those who have a production base should deal with the issue," said Lukashenka.
