Places Related To Kalinouski's Rebels Honoured In Mastaŭliany

157 years ago, the uprising of 1863-1864 broke out.

A native of Mastaŭliany, Vintsent Kanstantsin Kalinouski, became the leader of the revolutionaries in Belarus. Today, on January 22, representatives of the authorities and Podlaskie Voivodeship leaders honored the places related to the history of the uprising and its leader, Radio Racyja reports.

Bialystok public activist Radoslaw Pusko says:

- To honor the memory, one should be in Mastaŭliany on January 22. This is a very, very important place and our memory. We must remember our history shared with Lithuanians, Belarusians and Poles. Mastaŭliany is a good place to come and just to remember.

Also today Podlaskie governor of province Bohdan Paszkowski and the burgomaster of Suprasle municipality Radoslaw Dobrowolski laid flowers under the Cross of January Rebels, which is located in the territory of the Gmina.
