Ministry Of Energy Voices Russian Gas Cost

The price is known only for January-February.

The Russian natural gas supplies to Belarus in January-February this year will be carried out at the price of 2019 - $ 127 per 1 thousand cubic meters. This has been reported to TASS on Friday by the press-center of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic.

“In accordance with the agreements reached, in January-February, deliveries will be carried out at the rate of $ 127 per 1 thousand cubic meters,” the representative of the Ministry of Energy of the country noted.

Gazprom and Belarus signed a protocol on gas prices for January-February 2020 and addenda to gas transit and fuel supply contracts on December 31 last year, extending them until 2021. According to the signed documents, the contracted volumes of deliveries and transit in 2020 remained at the level of 2019.

On December 30 and 31, Vladimir Putin and Aliaksandr Lukashenka held two telephone conversations, during which they discussed the supply of the Russian oil to Belarus, as well as issues of gas supply and transit. The current gas agreement between Moscow and Minsk should expire on January 1, 2020.

Earlier, Lukashenka said that in 2020 the country intends to purchase from Russia about 20 billion cubic meters of gas, and 24-25 million tons of oil. It was planned to maintain the gas price at the current year level ($ 127 per 1,000 cubic meters).
