Cyprus has repeatedly vetoed the package of punitive measures against the Belarusian authorities.
Lukashenka has congratulated Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades on Independence Day, Radio Svaboda reports:
"In today's environment, when the whole world is faced with a number of challenges and threats, such concepts as solidarity and mutual assistance become particularly important".
Cyprus has repeatedly vetoed the package of punitive measures against the Belarusian leadership. The Cypriot side explained its opposition to sanctions against Belarus by seeking to impose EU sanctions against Turkey, which is conducting gas reconnoitring in controversial waters of the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
