On October 18, Minsk and other Belarusian cities hold Sunday marches that have become traditional in recent months. We offer a review of events in the regions.

Brest

According to the Brest resource "Binoculars", there were chains of solidarity and a procession in the city. The actions are accompanied by arrests but people still gather in the column and continue the march.

Local journalists Maksim Khlebets and Roman Chmel are among those detained.

Vitsebsk

In Vitsebsk, people built up the chain of solidarity; law enforcers detained several people.

Homel

In Homel, law enforcers did not let people gather in groups. According to Silnye Novosti, riot police detained people walking in the streets. Homel residents walked with flowers under white-red-white umbrellas.

Hrodna

Auto Grodno radio reports that on Sunday special equipment was in the city centre. People gathered on Sovetskaya Street. However, it was blocked by law enforcers from the side of Ozheshko Street. It was quite crowded. There were no detentions, according to local journalists.

Mahiliou

There were single actions in Mahiliou. One noticed paddy wagons in the city centre.

Navahrudak

On Sunday, a white-red-white flag appeared on the castle tower in Navahrudak.

- There are many of us, 60 people. They captured us one at a time. Then 50 policemen arrived at the square. The chief ordered to arrest everyone. Five people were detained, others managed to escape, wrote the readers of Nasha Niva from Navahrudak.

Zhabinka

A hundred residents danced in a round.

Svetlahorsk

Police detained 8 people, Silnye Novosti reported.
