Doctors from the Emergency Hospital were among the first to speak out harshly against the authorities.

For the second day, the story about how doctors did not give chairs to the escort policemen who were guarding the beaten man has been circulating on Telegram, Euroradio reports. Moreover, one of the doctors, seeing the policemen, knelt down with his face to the wall, his hands behind his head, and said: “They say you can stand like that for four days”.

Attached to the message is a photo of the screen with a medical chart: they say, the patient complained that on October 18, on the day of a large protest march, he was beaten by police officers.

The story looks like a motivational fake. And the bag on the man’s head, mentioned in the anamnesis, makes it sound even more doubtful. After all, this makes no sense: people tell how they are beaten during arrest without any bags on their heads. And in the period after the elections, there were almost no such cases when a person was taken around Minsk with a bag on his head.

However, despite all the doubts, the journalists managed to confirm that the story happened in reality.

The Emergency Hospital confirmed to the journalists that the head of the department and the police did indeed argue about chairs. They learned the names of the doctors who expressed their protest in this way.

- There they were determined to kick them out [the policemen], but it didn't work out. The chairs were taken away so that they would not sit. The policemen even called their boss, who came there and tried to figure out the situation. The doctors decided not to give up the man whom the policemen brought, and to keep him until the last, so that he would not fall into their hands again, - says the doctor.

According to the paramedic of the ambulance, who communicates with the Emergency Hospitals’ medical personnel, the situation there is now tense.

- Now there are repressions. In the Emergency Hospital, the leadership draws up lists of those who go “for the opposition” so as not to renew their labor contracts. There is now full-scale pressure on them, - says the doctor.

Back in August, doctors from the Emergency Hospital were among the first to speak out about the severe beatings and injuries of the protesters, which they had to face at work.

Also, the doctors of the Emergency Hospital clearly indicated their position, coming to peaceful actions against violence in solidarity with the people. Some doctors after the protest actions were detained and convicted.
