The Trial of a Woman Who Was Hit by a Policeman Will Take Place in Zhodzina

On Friday, October 23, a hearing on the administrative process against Nailya Husakova will be held at the Zhodzina city court. The woman is accused of participating in an unauthorized mass event on September 13. On that day, a police officer hit her in the face so hard that she fell.

According to ex-press.by, on September 13, Nailya Husakova stood in the parking lot at the Elegant shopping center. Hearing people screaming, she thought that someone might need her help. Approaching the policeman, the woman began to take pictures on the phone. Then, she moved the camera to the side, after which she received a strong blow in the face from another policeman, who was standing aside.

The woman felt unwell and went to the hospital. While filling out the documents and undergoing examination, the doctor called the City Department of Internal Affairs (GOVD). Nailya was summoned. She went to the meeting with a lawyer. The department of the Investigative Committee accepted the statement and asked the GOVD to explain what had happened.

The police replied that force was used “for self-defense and detention.” The check on this fact was extended by three months.

Nailya was not detained, and no one warned her about the possible use of force.
