Borrell and Pompeo Reaffirm Strong Support for the Independence and Sovereignty of Belarus

The EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and the head of the US State Department discussed the situation in our country.

EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell and US Department of State Mike Pompeo discussed the situation in Belarus by phone on 23 October. This is reported by the European External Action Service (EEA).

Representatives of the US and the EU once again called on the Belarusian authorities to enter into dialogue with civil society.

"Secretary of State Pompeo and High Representative Borrell called on the Belarusian authorities to enter into a constructive dialogue with real representatives of civil society," the statement says.

The EU and the US reaffirmed their strong support for the independence and sovereignty of Belarus.
