Ales Piletski: Riot Police Officers Used Stranglehold, Stepping On Throat With Knee

The journalist has been brutally detained on Maskouski Avenue in Minsk.

Ales Piletski, photo correspondent of tut.by and Narodnaya Volia, was detained:

- The detention took place at 5 p.m. when I was already on my way home along Maskouski Avenue. The riot police behaved rather harshly, at one point they used a stranglehold, twisted my arms, and wanted to take away my phone. They caught me by the arms and legs and carried me into the car. There, they threw me on the floor and stepped on my throat. It is painful to swallow now, it seems that my tooth was damaged. In the police department they demanded to delete the photos, - Piletski said.
