Polish Foreign Ministry: Aid Plan for Belarus - Success of Polish Diplomacy

The aid package is a response to the economic crisis Belarus is struggling with.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, Marcin Przydacz, said that the plan to help Belarus is the success of Polish diplomacy. It is reported by "Polish Radio."

Let us remind you that at the summit in Brussels, the European Union adopted a plan to help Belarus, prepared by Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.

Marcin Przydacz said the aid package is a response to the economic crisis Belarus is struggling with:

"The plan includes a number of points. First, a financial stabilization package, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, liberalization of the visa regime for Belarusians so that they can see how other European countries are developing. And finally, the infrastructure support package."

The politician recalled that the European Union also imposed sanctions against 40 representatives of the Belarusian authorities:

"With the help of a positive economic program, we want to bring Belarus closer to Europe. Sanctions are personal restrictions in relation to particular individuals responsible for electoral fraud and human rights violations. These people will not be able to enter the territory of the European Union, and their financial assets in the EU will be frozen."

Poland's deputy foreign minister added that Poland would try to expand EU sanctions in the event of an escalation of the conflict in Belarus.
