Belarus' Foreign Trade Turnover Decreased by $ 8 Billion

The Belarusian economy fell sharply after the elections.

For eight months of this year, foreign trade turnover decreased by 17.7% and amounted to 44.7 billion rubles. The decrease is almost $ 8 billion. Export from Belarus decreased by 16.2% and amounted to 22.9 billion. The decrease is by 3.7 billion, Radio Svaboda informs.

Debts of organizations have grown by 2.6% since August

One of the problems of the Belarusian economy is the debt burden of enterprises. Today, the debts of organizations amount to 59.8 billion rubles. Since the beginning of the year, debts have grown by almost 10%, and since August - by 2.6%.

Minus $ 447 million in deposits

After August, Belarusians began to withdraw money from banks massively. According to the statistics of the National Bank, there were $ 4.9 billion in deposits as of September. Compared to August, this figure decreased by $ 447 million. That is, the Belarusians took almost half a billion from the deposits.

Ruble deposits also fell - by 215 million from August to September.

Industrial giants' profits fall

From January to September, the industrial giant BelAZ earned 15.9 million rubles. This is 13 times less than in the same period last year.

MTZ earned 15.5 million rubles from January to September or three times less than in the same period last year.

34 thousand rubles from January to September earned the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant. Last year, the profit for the same period was even less - 17 thousand rubles.

Dollar exchange rate increased by 4%

On August 9, the day of elections, the dollar exchange rate was 2.44. and now, according to the National Bank, the rate is 2.55. the dollar has risen in price during this time by 11 kopecks, or 4%. And this is taking into account the fact that the dollar has been declining for several days.

National debt has grown by 3.7 billion since the elections

As of August 1 of this year, the state debt of Belarus amounted to 53.1 billion rubles, and, according to information as of October 1, already 56.9 billion. That is, it has grown by 3.7 billion since the elections.

Since the beginning of the year, the national debt has grown by 12.2 billion rubles.

19% of organizations are unprofitable

According to Belstat, 19.1% of organizations in Belarus are currently unprofitable. Last year, there were only 15% of them. During this time, 275 organizations became unprofitable.

And then there's the NPP

The Belarusian nuclear power plant worked for 2 days after the grand opening. Then it stopped due to "problems with electrical measuring equipment." It is not known when it will start working. Although, experts say: "Such a cessation will not bear financial losses."
