The country has rebelled against the dictator.
Belarusian coach Vasil Khamutouski spoke about the events in the country to the Romanian edition of gsp.ro, Trybuna reports.
- The abuses of dictator Lukashenka are spreading around the world, including waves of arrests. I know that you have also participated in the rallies and received a fine, haven't you?
- Yes I have. I was with other athletes. We were meeting with people who each time attend only peaceful rallies. This is the most important thing to write: peaceful rallies! However, every week we arrest citizens who stand up against the current regime. Here, in Belarus, we are all going through a very difficult time.
The country is against the dictator, who acts only with the army and police. That is, the same way it happened with Ceausescu in Romania! I do not know what the future holds, but people have died here without making the slightest aggressive gesture. But I am proud of the entire population, because we are like a fist, we are united, we respect each other, and this is a great reason for joy that the whole country is against the man who uses only law enforcement agencies after numerous election frauds.
- Are you in danger?
- We all feel at risk, because here they are doing what they want with you. But I am proud of our people. People are scared, but they go to peaceful demonstrations against the regime every week," - Khamutouski said.
We remind that Khamutouski is the Champion of Romania (2004/05, 2005/06) and the silver medalist of the Romanian Championship (2003/04) as a part of "Steaua", bronze medalist of the Romanian Championship (2012/13) and the winner of the Cup of Romania as a part of "Petrolula".
