Its fall is already predetermined.

Former director of the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus Hennadz Karshunou, who disclosed Lukashenka's low rating on the eve of the election, said in an interview to Radio Svaboda that "everything is already predetermined, such a regime cannot exist for long".

- Is it possible to imagine sociologically what the Belarusian society looks like at the moment, 3 months after the voting day?

- It is certainly difficult to discuss the figures. Everything is so dynamic that one week may differ quite a lot from another week. But if we look at what steps almost every corporate community, from doctors, students, workers, musicians to pensioners, is taking, we can say that the support for Lukashenka, if there is any, is very dispersed and blurred. If we talk about social-professional groups, it is very difficult to find such support in other groups except the law enforcement agencies and the power vertical.

- What can be the outcome of this Belarusian situation, when the authorities have actually turned into a junta, relying only on bayonets of law enforcement officers and officials? What does the fate of such regimes look like in terms of history?

- The stability of such regimes is ensured by external assistance or by rich natural resources. There are no such endless mineral resources in Belarus. Therefore, it seems to me that everything is predetermined. Such a regime cannot exist for long. The only question is: how much time it has.
