A route through Poland was chosen.

The first batch of oil products from the Lithuanian refinery Mažeikiai was sent to Ukraine by a new rail route through Poland, bypassing Belarus. This route will further transport oil products from the Lithuanian refinery to Ukraine, according to a press release from the Polish company PKN Orlen, which, through its subsidiary Orlen Lietuva, owns the Mažeikiai oil refinery, writes liga.net.

"The route through Poland is an alternative to the current one, which leads through Belarus. The first consignment of oil products from the Mažeikiai refinery has already been delivered by the new route to consumers in Ukraine," the message says.

Last year supplies of oil products from Lithuania increased by 9.4% to 499 thousand tons. At the end of the first quarter of 2020, the import of diesel fuel from Lithuania increased 2.4 times compared to the same period last year to 170 thousand tons.
