Petty repartee, daily stupid welding over a gas meter, washing dishes, taking out the garbage...

So why are they together?

"He" gives "her" money. Her position is easy to understand. But "his" position is pathetic. "She" doesn't "give" "him" in any way. But "he" doesn't dare to break up a) "because of the babies" (they won't understand) b) because of the neighbors - you have to show everyone that you "have a wife for all that" c) ... ...because he's a spineless creature!!!

And he comforts himself with saving kopecks and each new contribution is accompanied by a) humiliation b) ritual public swearing - for the fun of those very neighbors ... And in the end - always! - he is humiliated just because he's giving in.
