Uladzimir Karanik described the security measures.

Minister of Health Uladzimir Karanik told Tut.by whether his life has changed since the first case of coronavirus was diagnosed in Belarus, and what security measures he adheres to.

- There's no days off, and we don't sleep much. When the first positive test was registered from a citizen of Iran, the first meeting was held at 3 a.m. By that time we already had a list of plane passengers and first level contacts, and it was decided when they would be hospitalized. At 7 a.m., we were writing the press release, and at noon we were giving interviews," - the head of the ministry said during a press conference at the Ministry of Health on March 9.

He noted that it's important to wash hands in order to prevent coronavirus infection. There is, for example, a disinfectant at the entrance to the Ministry of Health.

- I learned that it is necessary to wash hands, when I was studying at the Medical University, and given the fact that in the past I was a surgeon and worked actively, it was established in our institution: if you come into the intensive care unit and even touch a patient, tuck in - you cannot move away from this bed without cleaning your hands in order not to carry the infection further. That's why I used to keep a bottle of antiseptic in my work place, and I still have it. Basic safety principles were developed long ago and have not changed. We will work to ensure that our entire population has basic principles of personal safety.
