Head of the Ministry of Health Salvador Illa said that in the conditions of this "sanitary war" all hotels in the country will be transferred to the disposal of health services.

The hotels' management will be notified that the buildings will be converted to accommodate medical personnel and hospitalize patients.

The operation of the hotels for tourism purposes will be completed by the Government decree on March 24.

One of the first hospitals has already been deployed at the Ifema exhibition centre in Madrid. Private homes for the elderly have also been transferred to the State, as have private hospitals.

According to the Spanish media, the bodies of those who died from coronavirus in Madrid will be stored at the ice rink in the building of the Ice Palace, which is located near the Ifema exhibition center. The bodies will be delivered by the military from the emergency unit. In the last 24 hours alone, 242 people have died in the capital region.
