Vitsebsk Designer Suspected Of Having Third Case Of Coronavirus

She's in the infectious disease hospital box, her husband and four children are next door.

The third case of coronavirus in Belarus was found in Vitsebsk, designer Tatsiana Yafremava, who was at an exhibition in Milan in late February, is suspected of having it. The patient had no complaints about her health, but she was checked, as now all tourists arriving from Italy are checked, and coronavirus was suspected. Tatsiana told tut.by that she feels like she has a slight cold. She is lying in the box of an infectious disease hospital, her husband and four children are next door.

Tatsiana Yafremava says that she did not have a fever or other signs of viral disease. On February 20, she flew from Minsk to Milan, together with two other designers, also employees of the Vitsebsk fur processing plant, she went to the exhibition. She returned on February 23, through Warsaw.

Tatsiana received a call from the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service and was asked to undergo a test in an infectious diseases hospital. On February 29 she underwent an examination and was hospitalized even before the test results came back - the doctor who examined the patient drew attention to her sore throat. On March 1, the Ministry of Health reported that the third case of coronavirus had been found in Belarus, referring to Tatsiana.

- I still ave a slight cold, - the interlocutor says. - The treatment is usual for such cases - I gargle throat and nose, do everything as in case of viral infection. My two colleagues have a negative test result, but now everyone is placed in a two-week quarantine.

Tatsiana is in a separate box at the Vitsebsk infectious diseases hospital. And her family is next door to her: four children and her husband. According to Tatsiana, they have a negative result.

- We can't see each other, we talk by video link, - the interlocutor says. - You can pass care packages in, but you can't pass anything back. Two weeks before the trip I was in an infectious disease hospital with my youngest child - and here we are again. The older children understand everything, the two youngest children still see what happened as an adventure. Can you imagine, they're like being imprisoned - my husband and four children sharing the same room. We don't know how long we're going to be here yet, but hopefully everything will be fine.

According to Tatsiana, when she arrived in Milan, no alarm was felt, everything was running smoothly.

- Later it was reported that the fashion shows are canceled or are held without an audience. When we were in Milan, we did not notice anything unusual.

Now they are interviewing Tatsiana's environment, finding out who she was in contact with and asking everyone to undergo the test. It is known that 26 people who had contact with her were hospitalized in Vitsebsk.

- The woman who is suspected of having coronavirus is in a separate box. She's not communicating with anyone. This box has a separate entrance, - the head of Vitsebsk Regional Health Department, Yury Dziarkach, says. - it's impossible to get out of this box: there are corresponding sluices and closed air exchange. That is, this woman is not in contact. All the rest of the hospitalized ones are contacted. But they are also located in boxes with a separate exit. Those with negative results will be taken out of isolation in the infectious diseases hospital. But they'll be in the hospital for 14 days. Actually, these people who were in contact with the fur factory worker could also be observed at home, but they decided on the complete isolation option in order to exclude all possible problems.

At the enterprise, where Tatsiana works, they emphasize: her colleagues' coronavirus has not been confirmed, they work as usual.
