Vitsebsk Doctor: There Are 41 Patients Diagnosed With Pneumonia In My Department

According to him, there are no available beds in the resuscitation department.

Subscriber of the Coronavirus Belarus telegram channel reported on the situation in Vitsebsk hospitals under the condition of anonymity:

- I'm one of the medical employees of Vitsebsk. March 21, there were patients with coronary heart disease and hypertensive crisis in my department. Today, on March 28, all the patients in my department are diagnosed with pneumonia. That makes 41 patients. I have also been informed that other departments (Genicology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Surgery and Proctology) have also been transformed into pulmonology. That is, there are patients diagnosed with pneumonia in the whole hospital.

Also, there are no beds in the intensive care unit. Beds have been put into the operating theatre, thus expanding the intensive care unit. 3 times a day we give our patients antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal drugs.

On March 27, yesterday, three patients with suspected coronovirus were taken away. Since they had a fever above 38 despite of all the drugs. We have also been told that their coronavirus test was positive.

The swabs have been taken only in the rooms where these three patients were on Friday. And they say the results will not be available until Monday. Everyone wears anti-epidemic suits and respirators in the department. At the moment, there are 2 patients in these wards, where the coronavirus was found, having high fever. (39.5 and 38.7) So the medication is not working again. I have to work with that fear. I'm afraid for my family. For tomorrow, me and all the staff are coming home. Yes, we work 24 hours a day.
