No quarantine imposed, though.

The coronavirus infection suspicion of an employee of the Minsk Youth Palace has been confirmed, the woman has been hospitalized. CEO of the institution Hanna Averyna has reported this, Radio Svaboda informs.

“She is in hospital, feeling okay, about two weeks have passed. Those who needed to be isolated, have been isolated,” Mrs. Averyna says.

However, the Youth Palace hasn’t gone on quarantine, all hobby groups continue to function.

“I am fulfilling certain conditions,” the CEO says. “The woman wasn’t in direct contact with children. She was on a sick leave before.

All the security measures have timely been taken, the sanitation center has processed everything, to ensure all children and staff are safe. Everything is confirmed by photos. We provide additional education, no one is obliged to bring their children to our classes. This is for the parents to decide. Everything works in a normal regime.”

The CEO says children hardly attend hobby groups now.

Previously, the administration of the Youth Palace refused to comment on the situation. When asked if it was true that one of the employees had a coronavirus infection, the receptionist replied:

“Is it some news you heard for the first time? We will not comment on this, don’t ask me anything.”

The department of information support and advertising said that quarantine in the palace has not been announced, the hobby groups work as usual.

“Our cleaners have been disinfecting every day for a long time,” the department said a few days ago.

The Palace employees anonymously reported that the sick woman worked in the department of arts.

“She is in the fifth hospital,” says one employee. “She got a call, she had a temperature of about 40, severe cough, it was difficult for her to speak and breathe, she was tested for the virus. And on Thursday they called our CEO from the hospital, and said that her tests came back positive. We expected that the sanitation center would arrive immediately, and carry out the necessary treatment. But nothing happened. Children come, hobby groups work, the state does not impose quarantine, so no one has canceled them. Those who want come.”

The palace employs 400 people, many of them previously took leave at their own expense for two weeks and even a month.

“The sick employee didn’t go anywhere. But she is a religious woman, who may have been in the closed premises. If it was from the children, half of the department would get sick. But so far it’s quiet here,” they say in the Youth Palace.
