BSUIR Students Driven To Face-To-Face Session Amidst Epidemic

Many students and university teachers are sick with the coronavirus.

Students of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics write that the leadership of some faculties independently decided to hold a face-to-face session, the press-center of the European Belarus civil campaign reports.

“While a number of Minsk universities officially announced the distance session, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics decided that now is the time to gather huge flows of students for a face-to-face session,” a subscriber writes to us. “This is despite the fact that not only students, but many teachers have already been infected with the coronavirus.”

Hanna Baranouskaya, a specialist at the dean’s office working at the Faculty of Computer Engineering, notifies group prefects in instant messengers that the session should be carried out in person.

So far, we are talking only about the faculty of Faculty of Computer Engineering. In general, there are no orders at the university so far, decisions on this should be taken locally, that is, at each faculty independently, each dean’s office.

A friend is studying at the Faculty of Computer Systems and Networks, there is also no information there, but they drive students to the military department for sure, classes have not been canceled.

This is the attitude of both students and teachers who are already aged and seriously ill.”
