Volunteer students were among the doctors who got infected.

Hanna Kalinichenka, a 6-year student of the Vitsebsk Medical University, future surgeon, has told sb.by how in the middle of April, she voluntarily went to help the medics who were fighting against coronavirus. She worked in the department, which the regional hospital deployed in the simulation center of the university. She was mostly helping nurses - delivering pills, setting up drips.

"During the pandemic, the flow of patients was very intense, - Hanna says. - When there are 25 patients arriving at the same time, when 40 I.V.'s are to be delivered to different floors wearing the full protective clothing... - it is a huge amount of work!"

Despite all the precautions, the student tested positive for COVID-19 in early May. She doesn't know whether she was infected in a hospital or a grocery store where she went to get food. The girl has recovered in a week, and now she's undergoing rehabilitation.

There has been career assignment already - Hanna Kalinichenka is going to work in her native Zhlobin.
