Earlier, the opposition called the detention of the Wagner PMC militants a staged performance by the authorities.

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation reports that Russian citizens who were previously detained in Belarus, who were referred to in Minsk as members of the Wagner PMC, have been returned to their homeland, interfax.by reports.

“In accordance with the petition of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov dated 05.08.2020 in the manner prescribed by the Minsk Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases dated 22.01.1993, thirty-two citizens of the Russian Federation who were previously detained on the territory of Belarus, crossed the state border of the Russian Federation and are currently on the territory of Russia,” the supervisory agency told Interfax.

The thirty-third citizen of Russia, who also has Belarusian citizenship, remained in Belarus, they added.
