About 30 people with angle grinders jumped over the fence and tried to enter the building.

In the early morning of August 27, unknown persons tried to storm the building of the Libyan Embassy in Belarus, which is located on Belaruskaja Street in Minsk, a tut.by correspondent reports from the scene.

At six in the morning, about 30 people with angle grinders jumped over the fence and tried to enter the building. The staff of the neighboring Moldovan embassy called the police.

The OMON arrived at the building, stopped the assault attempt, checked the documents of those who were in the building. Having received an order from the leadership not to interfere in what was happening, the OMON fighters left the territory of the embassy.

As our correspondent reports, the glass was broken in the building, and the door was broken. The chargé d'affaires of Libya - his name is Asteita Mohammed Mariy - was tried to be pull out of the building, but the guards managed to beat him off. There are bruises on the ambassador's body.

Now people who tried to storm the building are on the territory of the embassy. They demanded that the employees of the diplomatic mission leave the building of the embassy, otherwise they would start storming the first floor. There are several Arabs among the attackers, the rest are people of Slavic appearance, they speak pure Russian.

A month ago, an attempt was made to storm the embassy. As the correspondent reports referring to the Charge d'Affaires, the former military attaché of the embassy stood behind it After that, the Libyan Foreign Ministry appealed for help to the Russian security structures. An agreement was concluded with the RSB-group, which sent its employees to Minsk.

The embassy's security advisor is a Russian citizen - Stanislav Kudryashov, an adviser for trade and economic cooperation - also a Russian Yevgeny Shmykov.

According to diplomats, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry does not interfere with what is happening: this is the territory of a sovereign state.

According to available sources, Libya in Belarus is represented by supporters of the Libyan National Army (troops of the country's parliament) under the command of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. Accordingly, those who stormed could be their opponents, supporters of the Government of National Accord, which controls the Libyan capital Tripoli. So, the famous Russian military commander Alexander Kots wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

The civil war and dual power in Libya has been going on since 2014, and last spring Haftar launched an offensive to capture the capital, but as of today, the LNA is more likely to be defeated than won.
