Estonia Ready To Welcome IT Companies From Belarus

The corresponding work is already underway.

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu said this in an interview with ERR.

“I talked with representatives of the Belarusian community in Estonia, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing relevant proposals to our government, we are also holding consultations with other ministries in order to find out what opportunities we have to help Belarusian IT- companies move to our country,” said Urmas Reinsalu.

“For Lithuania, Belarus is a direct neighbor, we have a common border. Do we need to change the principles of our visa policy? I think not, we should keep them. However, we must be ready to make exceptions,” he added.

According to him, Estonia is ready to attract IT firms from Belarus. The corresponding work is already underway.

“In our migration legislation, there are exceptions for IT professionals, and we must definitely work on this. I hope that EAS, as an investment foundation, will take concrete steps in this direction,” Reinsalu said.
