Commissioning Of First BelNPP Unit Postponed Again

Earlier, the dictator announced the commissioning of the first power unit on November 7, 2020.

The first power unit of the BelNPP is planned to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2021, the second - in 2022. Energy Minister Viktar Karankevich informed about this at the 64th session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.

It is expected that next year the IAEA advisory mission on physical protection will come to Belarus. "Belarus will continue open and constructive interaction with the IAEA and all interested partners as part of its nuclear energy program," - Karankevich said.

The commissioning consists of several stages: pre-commissioning, physical startup, power startup and experimental-industrial operation.
