Germany Did Not Recognize Lukashenka as Legitimate

Germany does not consider Lukashenka a legitimate president of Belarus even after his inauguration. This is what Meduza writes with reference to the statement of the official representative of the Federal Republic of Germany government Steffen Seibert.

Slovakia also refused to recognize Lukashenka's legitimacy. This was announced on Twitter by the country's Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok.

On the morning of September 23, an unannounced "inauguration" of Lukashenka took place in his palace in Minsk. Several hundred Belarusian officials attended it. The broadcast footage of the ceremony was shown on the air of Belarusian channels post factum.
