Putin's former political technologist Gleb Pavlovsky believes that today Lukashenka has demonstrated to the Belarusian society his self-distrust.

"With this strange inauguration, the format of which was unexpected even for his supporters, Lukashenka showed that there are two centers of influence in the country - the authorities and protesters, and that a significant part of the Belarusian capital's population does not perceive him as president.
