Andrius Kubilius: All Military Juntas Find Same End

The MEP commented on today's “inauguration” of Lukashenka.

MEP from Lithuania Andrius Kubilius, chairman of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, said that today's “secret” and “shameful inauguration” of Lukashenka is “an attempt to seize and usurp power using military and police force”.

“This is nothing more than the creation of a military junta in Belarus. All military juntas find the same end,” Kubilius noted.

According to Kubilius, there is no legitimate president in Belarus according to the international election law. New presidential elections should be organized immediately, he added, as Lukashenka's term expires on November 5, 2020.
