How Brest Went to the March of 97%

Bright photo report.

After Lukashenka's inauguration, which took place on September 23 and was kept secret until the last moment, the Belarusians decided to go to the March of 97% on Sunday, Brestskaya Gazeta writes.

The meeting place was near the cinema "Belarus" on Savetskaja. In Brest, people began to gather later than the appointed time - about 15.00.

At first, people stood silently, without symbols, but under umbrellas: in the morning, in Brest, it rained without stopping; after lunch, it got a little better.

As the number of people increased, flags appeared, people began clapping and chanting slogans.

This did not last long. The AMAP appeared, dispersed the protesters, and detained several people.

One of the protesters ended up in the fountain, got out of it, and was detained. One girl became ill - she was helped by doctors.

When the security forces left, the people gathered again on Savetskaja.
