French Foreign Ministry Supports Rapid Imposition Of Sanctions Against Lukashenka's Regime

The French Foreign Ministry has made a statement.

The EU should quickly complete work on sanctions against a number of Belarusian officials, the French Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday, interfax.by reports.

"France reminds that it supports the rapid adoption of EU sanctions against officials responsible for suppressing the Belarusian people's protests, as well as - for violations during the elections on August 9," - the statement by the French Foreign Ministry reads.

The French Foreign Ministry reminds that Paris "strongly condemns the arbitrary arrest and forced expulsion of some demonstrators and some members of the Coordinating Council of the opposition in recent days".

In addition, France calls for full clarification of the situation with Maryja Kalesnikava, member of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council for Dialogue with Lukashenka.
