It will be available only by subscription.

From February, the independent newspaper Novy Chas will not be sold in the kiosks of the state printing and distribution system Belsaiuzdruk, writes naviny.by.

"Today, during the delivery of the next issue of Novy Chas for the expedition, we accidentally learned that Belsaiuzdruk is breaking the contract with us in February," said the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Aksana Kolb. "Thus, from February, our newspaper will no longer be sold in kiosks. It will be available only by subscription. We hope that our readers will still have such an opportunity by the end of June."

The trade department of RUE Belsaiuzdruk did not explain to the editorial board the reason for the refusal to distribute. "They could not answer whether they sent us a special letter with notification of the termination of cooperation. And although this reason is obvious, I would still like to see an official letter from the management," Kolb notes.

According to the editor-in-chief, not so long ago, negotiations were held with the trade department of RUE Belsaiuzdruk to increase the number of copies for distribution since the percentage of newspaper write-offs has significantly decreased since August 2020, and it was almost zero in the Hrodna region.

The weekly newspaper Novy Chas belongs to the unitary publishing enterprise "Chas Navinak." Its founder is the Minsk city organization of the public association Frantsishak Skaryna Belarusian Language Society. The newspaper has been published since 2009 on Fridays.
