The Belarusian protests have resulted in the usurper's complete isolation.

The Czech publication of iDNES writes about Lukashenka's complete international isolation.

Last weekend, the protesters marched through the streets of Minsk again, chased by the forces of law and order. That was the beginning of the sixth month of anti-government protests in Belarus. Mass demonstrations ran rampant in the country after the rigged August presidential election.

Lukashenka got out of the battle not only battered, with not a hint of legitimacy, but also isolated. For the outside world, Lukashenka became an outcast. In a few weeks, he "squandered" all the capital he had accumulated in his relations with the West. The countries of the European Union, as well as the United States and others, despite their initial hesitation, have managed to agree on sanctions against representatives of the Belarusian regime. The prestigious Ice Hockey World Championship, which Belarus is supposed to host this year together with Latvia, has also been put under threat. A large part of the international community has made it clear that they no longer recognize Lukashenka as a legitimate head of state. This seals the road abroad for him and limits his room for foreign policy maneuvering, making him defenseless.

The unrest in Belarus shows what can happen if an unpopular dictator, after 26 years of unlimited power, wants to know how popular he is with the public, and using mock elections, openly confirms his legitimacy. All this takes on a special urgency in light of the upcoming presidential elections in Russia in 2024.
