Political Analyst: Putin Gave Lukashenka Up For Lost And Is Waiting For The Moment

The Kremlin knows that the people do not accept the dictator, and not all security officials are loyal.

The Belarusians will eventually achieve the overthrow of the Lukashenka regime.

This was stated by Russian political analyst Stanislav Belkovsky in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alesa Batzman.

"I think that the Belarusians will get their way because the overwhelming majority does not support Lukashenka, and he does nothing to increase his popularity in his own country.

To some extent, of course, he can rely on loyal security officials, whose loyalty has been questioned by a lot of leaks; the story with Sheremet is especially interesting in this context," - Belkovsky said.

According to him, Putin does not like Lukashenka and does not trust him.

"It is clear that not all security officials are loyal, the people do not tolerate Lukashenka, Russia agrees with him very conditionally and wants some compromise on which the EU and the U.S. will agree with him. But this does not mean that he supports Lukashenka to the last, Putin does not like Lukashenka and does not trust him. Putin has given Lukashenka up for lost and is waiting for the moment," - the political analyst said.
