Minsk resident Pavel Bankouski, 35, who committed an act of self-immolation in Independence Square on January 22, remains in extremely critical condition.

"The condition of the man who suffered in Independence Square is still extremely serious. He is in the Republican Burn Center in the emergency hospital. Doctors diagnosed him with burns of varying degrees of severity - up to 72 percent. All necessary treatment measures are being taken."

"He is in a critical condition, in an induced coma. We believe in a miracle. But the doctors give 1 percent," - Pavel's ex-wife reported.
