Nine Cars From Oligarch Oleksin for Lukashenka

The "gifts" cost more than a million dollars.

There are five cars, two motorcycles, an electric car and a tricycle. In total, nine vehicles. All this Lukashenka received from just one person - the tobacco king of Belarus, Aleksei Oleksin. The Belarusian Investigative Center made a sensational discovery, reports Belsat.

Officially, Lukashenka's security service received the cars as a gift. He uses them.

The gift of more than a million dollars was made in 2018. After February, an investment agreement was signed with Oleksin's company, Energo Oil, to create the Tabakerka chain of tobacco kiosks. It gave Oleksin the right to import cigarettes into Belarus. Previously, Lukashenka's Administration had such permission. That July, Lukashenka extended the borders of Minsk for the businessman to build his own tobacco factory Inter Tobacco.

Energo Oil (which means Oleksin personally) now controls 40 per cent of the tobacco market in Belarus. This year, the businessman and some of his assets fell under U.S. and European sanctions.
