U.S. Ambassador Julie Fischer Met With BOR Leader Siarhei Dyleuski

They discussed the issues of increasing the sanction pressure against the regime and assistance to the strikers.

On December 2, US Ambassador to Belarus Julie Fischer met with the leader of the Belarusian Union of Workers (BOR) Siarhei Dyleuski. The meeting was held in an informal format of confidential dialogue, reports the press service of the Belarusian Association of Workers (BOR).

They discussed the strengthening of sanctions against the regime, the synchronization of sanctions against Lukashenka with Canada and Great Britain, the problems and their solutions in the field of trade union associations in Belarus, the assistance to striking workers, political prisoners and resistance activists at workplaces. One of the important topics for discussion was the agitation activities at workplaces and in the media space.

At the end of the meeting it was agreed to continue communication with the Belarusian Union of Workers, to synchronize actions aimed at protecting workers' rights and help and support in the struggle for a democratic state in Belarus.

Julie Fischer said she admired the workers in Belarus, who, despite the unprecedented pressure from the state, continue to fight the regime, and hopes that the European Union, the United States, Canada and the UK will do everything in their power to make the law and justice prevail in our country.
