Are Lukashists preparing a provocation against Ukraine?

The Belarusian border guards declared the "violation" of the airspace of Belarus by Ukraine, the Border Committee of Belarus said. According to preliminary information, the violation was unintentional.

"On December 4, at about 12 noon, at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border near the Novaya Rudnya checkpoint of the Mazyr border detachment, a violation of the airspace of the Republic of Belarus by Ukraine was recorded," the official statement said.

"The Ukrainian military helicopter Mi-8 at an altitude of about 100 m crossed the state border and flew to a depth of 1 km into the territory of Belarus. The Ukrainian side has been informed about this incident," the ministry’s representatives write.

According to preliminary information, the violation was unintentional.

The Ukrainian side claims that there was no violation of the border with Belarus. This was announced by the assistant to head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko, in a commentary to Ukrayinska Pravda.

Demchenko recalled that since November 23, a joint special border operation "Palesie" has been going on on the border with Belarus, within the framework of which aviation and drones are used, but stressed that there was no fact of crossing the border with Belarus.

"Aviation is actively used in guarding and monitoring the border, but what the Belarusian side announced today about the violation of the airspace is not true."
