Hrodna Musician Ihar Bantser Sentenced To One And Half Year Of Serving Term At Place Of Residence
IHAR BANTSER

The political prisoner was released in the courtroom until the beginning of the execution of his sentence.

March 19, the court sentenced Hrodna musician Ihar Bantser to eighteen months of serving the sentence at the place of residence, tut.by reports.

During the first hearing in his case, March 3, the musician went on a dry hunger strike, as he believes his case is politically motivated. On March 19, he'll be temporarily released under the written pledge not to leave country.

41-year-old Ihar Bantser is the leader of the street punk band Mister X. He is married with three children. This year, during the protests, he has served three administrative arrests for participating in rallies (18 days in total), and was also fined.

Then he was detained on criminal charges: on October 20 of last year, the man's home was searched. Since then he has been kept in the Hrodna pre-trial detention center.
