Uladzimir Niakliayeu Hospitalized With Coronavirus

The poet and politician keeps notes about the course of the disease under the title "Covid's Games".

Poet and politician Uladzimir Niakliayeu has been hospitalized with COVID-19. He has told Euroradio that he has been sick for more than a week:

"I have been sick for about eight or nine days. I am being treated in hospital because they said that I could not cope on my own. There is no such a danger any more, the crisis moment has passed.

I was breathing with oxygen. But I'm ok now.

Nobody should leave Belarus in this beautiful victorious spring. They say it is better for me to stay in hospital. But I can already be home judging by the way I feel.

A year ago, we didn't know what to do with coronavirus. I could have failed to cope in such a state. Now the doctors have worked out some methods. But I spent three or four days in a high fever. The virus has intellect, and the games with it are nightmarish. But for a creative person is very interesting. Dramatic revaluation of values, psychologically very difficult things. It is very hard to go through, although now, maybe, for me it has proven to be beneficial. It significantly changes the approach to life.

Niakliayeu has been writing down his thoughts about COVID-19 in the hospital. He calls these recordings "Covid's Games".
