Ex-Investigator: Some Security Officials Do Not Want Dishonor, But Interested In Change

This is a message to the most obnoxious punishers that they will have to answer for their words.

Yesterday BYPOL published a parting word to the security forces from a man with a voice similar to the voice of ex-Interior Minister Yury Karayeu.

In the message, Belarusians are called “dull and narrow-minded people”, “fat philistines”. Speaking to the security forces, he urges them to go and remove “this skank”.

The website Belarusian Partisan asked former investigator of the prosecutor's office, head of the human rights organization Legal Aid to Population Aleh Vouchak to comment on the leak of Karayeu's speech:

- Most likely, this is not an internal leak, but a competing Belarusian special service. The leak came purposefully on the police day holiday, to demonstrate that all conversations are being tapped and recorded not only of the officials of the middle and management level, but also of the ministers themselves.

Some forces show that everyone will have to answer for their words. In this recording, threats against the people are heard. I think that some of the security officials who work in this system are also interested in changing the situation.

Over the past six months, serious problems have arisen in the families of the security officials, some of the security officers, who have not got smirched in dishonor of repressions, want to return to the normal legal field,” said Aleh Vouchak, head of the human rights organization Legal Aid to Population.
