The US and the EU will adhere to a single strategic approach to the Lukashenka regime.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Joe Biden during a telephone conversation discussed topics related to Russia, China, Belarus, and Ukraine.

"The leaders... agreed to coordinate issues of common interest, including China, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and the Western Balkans," the White House said in a statement.

"We take a single strategic approach towards Russia. I suggested that we closely coordinate our policies and measures, especially with regard to Eastern Europe," von der Leyen said in a statement.

She noted that the EU and the US exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.

"On the issue of foreign policy, we agreed to intensify cooperation, being like-minded partners, and to support democracy, stability, and prosperity against the backdrop of a rapidly changing international situation," the head of the EC stressed.
