IOC Did Not Recognize Lukashenka's Son as President of the NOC of Belarus

Also, the IOC did not recognize Baskau, a suspect in the murder of Raman Bandarenka, as a member of the executive committee.

The International Olympic Committee did not recognize Viktar Lukashenka as the new president of the NOC of Belarus.

Also, the IOC did not recognize Dzmitry Baskau as a member of the executive committee. The International Olympic Committee has confirmed that the sanctions against them remain in effect.

This means that the National Olympic Committee will not be able to receive financial payments except funds intended for athletes.

Also, the IOC will not invite high-ranking civil servants of Belarus to the Olympics. All federations are ordered to ensure equal treatment of all athletes, excluding any discrimination based on political views.

“The IOC is disappointed that the NOC did not take into account information from our previous decision of December 7, where we indicated that the leadership of the NOC of Belarus is not doing enough to protect athletes from discrimination on political grounds,” the NOC said in a statement.
